Irish actor Gabriel Byrne began his career acting on the stage in Dublin and London before making the move to the Irish television show The Riordans. He gradually transitioned into featured roles in American films, including Stigmata, Usual Suspects, and End of Days. He also starred on the HBO drama In Treatment. He spoke to students at the New York campus in September 2006. Byrne has also produced several films, including the Academy Award–nominated In the Name of the Father (1993).
