Celebrated actor and director Edward James Olmos who got his start in the theatre, garnering a Tony nomination for his role in the play Zoot Suit. He received an Oscar nod for his performance in 1988’s Stand and Deliver, and is well known for his memorable roles in Blade Runner, American Me, My Family/Mi Familia, Selena, and Time of the Butterflies. He has won an Emmy and 2 Golden Globes for his celebrated television roles, including Miami Vice, The West Wing, cult favorite Battlestar Galactica, and Dexter. He is also a devoted social activist, co-founding the Los Angeles Latino International Film Festival, Latino Literacy Now, and Latino Public Broadcasting.
