Building upon the success of New York Film Academy’s (NYFA) 1-Year and 2-Year Musical Theatre Conservatory programs and its short-term workshops, the school launched a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Musical Theatre degree program offered at the New York City campus. NYFA’s Conservatory Musical Theatre programs have graduated Broadway, movie, musical, and television actors whose credits include Spielberg’s West Side Story, Aladdin, Les Miserable, Beetlejuice, Finding Neverland, the biographical musical The Tina Turner Musical, as well as Brown Nation, New Amsterdam, In the Weeds, and more.
NYFA Musical Theatre students have also put on several fully produced musicals, ranging from popular musicals like Urinetown and Sweeney Todd to musicals based on films, including Addams Family and Legally Blonde. Student work also includes staged readings of fresh works from up-and-coming composers, open mic nights, showcases, and a crafted movie musical project filmed and edited to perfection.
