On January 31st, 2024, the New York Film Academy (NYFA) attended a reception hosted by the Education Office of the Chinese Consulate General in New York. The event commemorated the 45th anniversary of Temple University awarding an Honorary Doctor of Law degree to Deng Xiaoping. The reception was part of a series of events organized by the Consulate to celebrate the Chinese New Year.
Consul General Huang Ping underscored Deng Xiaoping’s notable historical impact and the ongoing educational collaboration between the United States and China. The gathering served as an opportunity to reflect on and envision future educational exchanges, fostering the aspiration for the youth to be pivotal contributors and envoys of US-China friendship.
At the event, Education Counsellor Yu Yougen extended an invitation to NYFA faculty and students to participate in academic programs in China in 2024.
