Build Audition and Acting Skills at NYFA

In NYFA’s 1-Year Acting for Film Program, students learn foundational acting skills and gain confidence in front of the camera. Through hands-on projects and coursework, students receive the experience necessary to deliver memorable performances.

Students train in acting techniques that are applicable for both stage and screen acting, helping them learn to work in front of a live audience and strengthen their performance in film shoots.

Curriculum

The one-year curriculum at NYFA’s Acting for Film School in New York includes:

  • A variety of classes to broaden students’ knowledge of acting techniques, voice and movement, scene study, and the many different aspects of filmmaking that impact the actor’s ability to perform on set
  • Work and instruction with award-winning faculty that are current working industry professionals
  • An opportunity to work hand-in-hand with the filmmaking department, providing resources such as film equipment, live film shoots, and a network of filmmakers, screenwriters, producers, and editors
  • The ability to attend guest lectures with film industry leaders such as actors, directors, producers, cinematographers, and more
