Karen used to work on the business side of NBC News but she wanted to be on-air. She enrolled at NYFA and learned the necessary skills to be a multimedia journalist (MMJ). She then moved to Bakersfield, California where she worked for three years, constantly improving and learning how to “do more with less.” She got an agent, then was selected for a job at NEWS12 New York, a cable TV news channel. After a brief stop here, she moved to the NBC station in Philadelphia.

Recently she was assigned a story in New Jersey, covering how the state was putting into place the toughest plastic bag ban in the country. The story was so good that WNBC decided to use it, instead of sending out a reporter to do their own story.
