Ilda Mason is a Panamanian actress, singer, and dancer based in New York City. She began her acting career in productions including Evita, Peter Pan, The Beauty and the Beast, A Chorus Line, Hello Dolly, Legally Blonde, Gloria Estefan’s On Your Feet! and toured nationally for the stage production of Cinderella as a member of the ensemble.
She was a professional dancer on Panama’s Dancing with the Stars for two seasons and has performed in Ivo van Hove’s adaption of West Side Story on Broadway. She has also performed in two other productions of West Side Story: one at Signature Theatre in Arlington, VA, and the second one at Paper Mill Playhouse in Millburn, NJ. Mason played the role of Francisca in one, Estella in the other, and understudied Rosalia in both.
Most recently, Mason was cast as Luz, a member of the Sharks in Steven Spielberg’s film adaptation and the remake of West Side Story. The film won ‘Best Picture’ and ‘Best Director’ at the 94th Academy Awards in 2022. She is also appearing in the Tony Award-winning Evita.
