Francesco PanzieriVISUAL EFFECTS ARTIST
Francesco Panzieri is a visual effects artist from Pescara, Italy whose professional repertoire speaks for itself. He attended NYFA New York, graduating from our 1-Year 3D Animation & VFX Conservatory Program in 2008. Panzieri made his film debut as a roto/paint artist for the 2010 film Clash of the Titans. The following year, he served as a compositor for the films Madea’s Big Happy Family and Abduction. Panzieri also worked as a compositor for one episode each of the TV series Glee, NCIS, Pan Am, and Person of Interest. Also in 2011, Panzieri was a rotoscope and paint artist for the film Warrior.
During 2011 and 2012, Panzieri continued working as a compositor on TV series such as 90210, Raising Hope, The Middle, House, and Hawaii Five-O, among others. He then served as a compositor for 18 episodes of CSI: Crime Scene Investigation in 2012-2013, as well as three episodes of Mad Men in 2013.
In addition to his television work, Panzieri contributed visual effects to feature films including Begin Again (2013), That Awkward Moment (2014), Winter’s Tale (also 2014), Mr. Right (2015), and Diablo (2015), where he was the film’s lead compositor.
Panzieri notably served as a compositor for 19 episodes of the TV series Sleepy Hollow in 2014-2015. He was then the in-house compositor for Star Wars: Episode VII – The Force Awakens (2015).
In 2016, Panzieri contributed visual effects to the TV series The Haves and the Have Nots, Lethal Weapon, Gotham, and Once Upon a Time. The following year, he served as compositor for the films The Fate of the Furious and Spider-Man: Homecoming. Also in 2017, Panzieri made his first foray into music video VFX. He provided effects in the video for “Swish Swish” by Katy Perry featuring Nicki Minaj. The same year, he was the music video compositor for Kelly Clarkson’s song “Love So Soft.”
Meanwhile, Panzieri continued his work in film and television, notably serving as compositor for the feature films Avengers: Infinity War, Ant-Man and the Wasp, and The Equalizer 2. In 2018, he forayed into video game VFX, working as a compositor on Call of Duty: Black Ops 4. The next year, Panzieri was the in-house compositor for Men in Black: International. Also in 2019, he served as compositor for Once Upon a Time in Hollywood and Spider-Man: Far from Home, where he was also a lighting artist.
Panzieri then served as the in-house compositing supervisor for the Netflix original holiday special Jingle Jangle: A Christmas Journey (2020). Directed by David E. Talbert, the special stars Forest Whitaker, Keegan-Michael Key, and Phylicia Rashad, among others.
More recently, Panzieri served as the in-house compositor for the 2021 feature film Dune. The film went on to win two Academy Awards in 2022, namely “Best Picture” and “Best Visual Effects.” In 2022, he was the compositor for the TV series Sprung and Winning Time: The Rise of the Lakers Dynasty. The following year, he served as the in-house compositing supervisor for Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny.
Panzieri is also the in-house compositing supervisor for the upcoming film Joker: Folie à Deux. The film will premiere in theaters in 2024.
