UK-Nigerian filmmaker Akinola Davies Jr. has worked in both film and music videos. He is known for his exploration of themes about community, race, spirituality, identity, and gender.

Davies’ short film Lizard, won the Short Film Grand Jury Prize at Sundance Film Festival 2021. In addition to the Sundance win, the film was also nominated for an ALFS Award by the London Critics Circle Film Awards. Lizard was among the 2021 BAFTA nominees for Best British Short Film.

He previously made the short films Zazzau and Unity Is Strength and his next slated project will be sci-fi film X Us.
